How to play
Setup. The four tigers begin on the four corners. All twenty goats start in hand. Goats move first.
Phase 1, placement. Each goat turn places one goat on any empty point. Goats cannot move until all twenty are on the board. Tigers move on every tiger turn: one step along a line to an adjacent empty point, or a capture.
Capturing. A tiger leaps along a straight line over one adjacent goat into the empty point directly behind it, and that goat is eaten. One goat per turn; tigers never jump other tigers.
Phase 2, movement. Once all twenty goats are placed, a goat turn slides one goat a single step along a line to an adjacent empty point.
Tigers win when they have eaten five goats. Goats win by hemming in all four tigers so no tiger can step or leap on the tigers' turn.
Lines. Only the drawn lines connect points: the diagonals exist through the centre and the diamond, so many points have no diagonal neighbours.
